The town of Pilmo had never been noted for its contribution to rock'n'roll. The Masked Martians could have changed all that, if only they had been a noted influence on the music scene, conquering not only their home town but the nation, before going on to capture the ears and souls of the world. Alas, instead they were not very good. But they did get to feature in the continuing story, along with far too many other characters, most of whom were also musicians. So this is a story largely about rock'n'roll, with elements of science fiction, surrealism and sheer banality. Some of it's quite funny.
